Two TDC2 2009 Winners are from MATD

The TDC2 2009 Winners have just been announced, and we can now go public with our ‘Hurrah!’ and congratulations to the two very talented Reading MATD students from last year – Dan Reynolds and Mathieu Réguer aka. ‘kiddo’ for their typefaces Malabar and Cassius respectively. Big up and all that.

  1. Dan Reynolds / February 20th, 2009 at 9:56 UTC

Thanks, Claus! It is nice to see this post here. And I’d like to wish my congratulations to Mathieu (again) as well.

Also, this is a good place to shout out to Victor Gaultney, Vik Burian, Adi Stern, Miguel Sousa, Alejandro Lo Celso, Eva Masoura, Mitja Miklavčič, Nadine Chahine, and Valentin Brustaux (I hope that I didn’t leave anyone out!)… all MATD alums who have been recognized by the TDC over the past few years as well.

  2. Dan Reynolds / February 20th, 2009 at 9:57 UTC

Oh, and Fernando & Emanuela, too! Each of whom was a winner in the TDC Tokyo competition.

  3. Amelie Bonet / February 21st, 2009 at 20:47 UTC

Big Up to Laurent and Jonathan with Copte Scripte, too!

  4. Antonio Cavedoni / February 21st, 2009 at 23:52 UTC

    Congrats guys!

  5. Mathieu Réguer / February 22nd, 2009 at 23:37 UTC

Hey, thank you very much Claus! We’re very proud to be featured on emayteedee!
I’d like to wish my over warm congratulation to Dan (again) as well. As he said this is a good place to do so, so let’s shout for the previous winners! and the next ones!
And, of course, I concur the big uping to Jonathan & Laurent.

  6. Claus Eggers Sørensen / February 23rd, 2009 at 2:11 UTC

You are welcome, but really – and I feel I have to mention this – this thanking almost everybody who won the TDC is a heavy inflation on the prize congratulations we have. Former MATD students – by all means thank them – but non-MATD is really pushing it, and on top of that French non-MATD students… You must be able to see that this has to end? So remember: MATD is the best. As long as we are winning lets not inflate the congratulations. Why are you not coming to Robothon kiddo? And yes, I accept your apologies.

  7. Mathieu Réguer / February 23rd, 2009 at 9:32 UTC

I though the subtle difference between congratulations and big ups would be enough, but I guess you are right, the Frenchness of the thing was over the top. So let me congratulate Dan again!
About Robothon, that is a long and sad story about coincidence, simultaneous events and defective technology (not to mention the French)… But I let you know the outcome!

  8. Dan Reynolds / February 23rd, 2009 at 14:17 UTC

That’s the spirit, Mathieu! Just to keep things rolling, I’ll congratulate you one more time (it won’t be the last time… we still have to toast over drinks some time in March).

Claus, you’ll note my willing to heap praise on MATD graduates, especially after you become one yourself. As for everyone else, you should know by now that I’m tribal. I don’t congratulate a lot of other people. Especially if their tribe is that place over there that shall not be named… :-D

  9. Claus Eggers Sørensen / February 23rd, 2009 at 18:45 UTC

I feel better now. I just wanted confirmation that you guys are tribal. And by tribal I mean arrogant, elitist, grudge carrying and vindictive.

  10. Dan Reynolds / February 23rd, 2009 at 19:39 UTC

    Oh, only a little bit.

  11. Claus Eggers Sørensen / February 23rd, 2009 at 22:32 UTC

We have essay feedback tomorrow, and I feel I have jinxed it with my tribal karma. So sorry about everything to everyone. Sorry.

  12. Antonio Cavedoni / February 24th, 2009 at 19:46 UTC

You did jinx it bigtime, Claus!

  13. Claus Eggers Sørensen / February 24th, 2009 at 20:49 UTC

    As a ‘punk-humanist’ I jinx everything I touch. A fact, though I wish it wasn’t. Shall I quietly pray for a pass?

Have your say

About

We thought: hey, wouldn’t it be neat if all the MATD students could have a place to blog all together, maybe even aggregating their personal blogs? We thought of possible domain names, but 4 letters domain names are impossible, so here we are: emayteedee.org is where the action will be. Keep checking this place, interesting stuff will eventually happen!
